SHAH ALAM: In early September, students of Sekolah Tinta were taken by surprise… by none other than a tiny and energetic kitten. School was just resuming after the term break and the last thing students expected upon returning was a playful feline as their new schoolmate. The sudden arrival of the kitten has brought much joy and excitement to the school, and she seems set to be a permanent member of the campus.

Every morning, after finishing their breakfast and during their free time, students head to the Guard House to visit Yubi, whose new name was bestowed by Uncle Yuba, the school’s beloved security guard.

According to Uncle Yuba, Yubi’s mother died in the gutter where they both presumably lived. “I felt bad for the kitty, so I gave it food and water”, said Uncle Yuba, who found Yubi a week before students returned to school. As sad as that is, Yubi is now part of the Tinta family and is loved by students and teachers alike. Her arrival has taught us compassion and bonded us together in a very unexpected way.
Welcome to your new home, Yubi!
