The Tinta Times is a monthly Online News Bulletin produced entirely by Sekolah Tinta students for Sekolah Tinta students.
It was initiated on the 25th August 2023 as a proposal by the School-Parent Council and came to fruition with the formation of the very first Editorial Board on the 6th September 2023.
Chaired by former broadcast journalist and news anchor Puan Sheahnee Iman Lee as the Managing Editor and STEM teacher Ustaz Akmal as the Teacher Advisor, the Tinta Times Editorial Board is currently helmed by Form 1 Scholar student Sarah Huzaimi.
It aims to bring students, teachers and parents of the school:
- the latest news happening within Sekolah Tinta,
- highlights of school and student achievements via interesting interviews and features,
- student insights and awareness-raising via opinion editorials
- students’ talents and skills via contributed articles, artwork and comics
…and ultimately, create a closer bond among fellow students, as well as with teachers and parents of the school.
The Tinta Times is published online by the first Monday of every month within the active school year.
It will also be released as an Annual Yearbook by the end of the school year.
The Tinta Times hopes to eventually also be available in a broadcast format via Youtube and on televisions around the school. For now, our broadcast journalists work alongside our print journalists to prepare digital and video news for publication on the online bulletin.
